Andrea Salini
I’m an outdoor and action sports photographer born and raised in Bormio, in the heart of the Italian Alps.
In my photography I love celebrating peak action in remarkable places. That’s what I’m looking for every day: I only shoot the sports and places I love and understand.
After high school I got a degree in photography at IED institute in Milan, where a few years later I had the chance to teach Direction of Photography and Video Technology.
In the years I was lucky enough to travel the World to shoot advertising campaigns for some of the most relevant outdoor brands in the market, like RedBull, Nordica, Scarpa, Black Crows, Enervit or tourism board like Livigno, Bormio, Cortina.
I have a mission statement.
My field is not art, but advertising: I shoot to sell some products, not my images in some art gallery.
More than anything, in a professional setting I’m committed to respecting and celebrating the brand I’m servicing. In my career I’ve seen too many photographers getting paid to fullfill their ego and interests rather than the clients’.
I believe that my vision comes into play to connect the values and style of the brand with the environment and athletes I’m working with, to precisely articulate the brand’s image and positioning.
